Show Me Where the Good Times Are had a great cast: Christopher Hewitt, Catherine Damon and I played opposite a handsome young leading man named John Bennett Perry, who had a very young son named Matthew. My big number was a duet, so Walter suggested I sing the title song. I thought it was just another toe-tapper—until the day we recorded it. Walter’s illuminating direction and Fred’s stirring orchestration inspired me to reach deep inside myself, and I discovered it was so much more.
