Music & Lyrics by G.
Wood *Premiere Recording F. Jasmine Adams was really a play with music, so carefully was it written and staged to be true in tone and spirit to The Member of the Wedding, the classic Carson McCullers play on which it was based. Under Ted Mann’s solid direction, it was a very moving evening in the theatre, and playing Frankie Adams, the role Julie Harris first brought to life on stage and screen, was a wonderful growing experience for me. It’s not often that one gets to play such a rich and deeply layered character. I particularly loved the scene in Act Two when Theresa Merritt as Bernice Sadie Brown held me on her lap and comforted me with this haunting spiritual lullabye.
